  • Book Vip Bad Review

Update by user Nov 03, 2015

These losers could not even address the real issue-that they offer a nice resort knowing it is booked and expect you to settle for a lousy resort. The old bait and switch.

And they try to deflect blame to the resort! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Original review posted by user Oct 31, 2015

I stumbled upon the website for Book VIP which sells resort rooms for less if you agree to a timeshare presentation. The deal was good, so I purchased a stay for 3 nights at the Hollywood Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale and called to book my dates.

The dates I originally wanted were booked, so I booked 3 nights in March 2016. Imagine my surprise when I started getting emails to call them.

When I did, this company said they made a mistake and did not have dates available in March and wanted to send me to a *** Ramada instead! This is the oldest trick in the book, and certainly illegal!

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We appreciate all feedback and would reach out to you personally if it were possible but this was posted without any contact information.
There are is only one unlikely scenario in which a qualified "confirmed" reservation would later be rescinded, which puts BookVIP, as the booking company, in the uncomfortable position of bearing bad-news to the guests. However, if we werent able to find a suitable alternative, you would be refunded 100%.
As you can imagine, these promotions sell like hotcakes and as a result, every once in awhile, the participating resort discovers that the rooms have been over-booked. Therefore, the reservations are honored on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The resort partner is paying the 70% discount on your behalf when you meet the qualifications they set forth for these promotions. All qualifications, as well as any additional resort fees, taxes, and/or deposits which may be required by any particular resort are reviewed with each guest during the sales call - and are clearly stated, in writing, on the Terms and Conditions, which must be reviewed, agreed to, and accepted by all guests before the reservation can be finalized and forwarded to the resort.
BookVIP has thousands of happy travelers every week, and has more video testimonials from happy customers than any other travel website in the world!

Bookvip Vacation Ownership
Reason of review
Poor customer service

I booked a trip. was very excited to be able to take advantage of a great deal and looked forward to buying timeshare in a gorgeous location.

The first time I booked I got a call back and confirmed the trip from the hotel themselves. I then 2 days later got a email from BOOKVIp that they could not accommodate my reservation anymore. Since I was withing cancellation dates I canceled and demanded an expedited refund.

I then tried again the following week and the Dates were "blocked" they said.

SO fine I decided to move my trip out one week to stay at the resort I originally wanted. I then booked again. Got a call back. Confimred my reservation..

. so I finally booked my flight. Three days later got a call and an email and a text that they would not be able to accommodate my trip!! I was hoping to get a call from management but never did.

The "supervisor" said she would take care of it but convemniently waited past the cancellation period to tell me she couldn't accommodate me in any way.

WHAT A JOKE!!! BEWARE< you get what you pay for.

Update by user May 22, 2015 makes it rather difficult to immediately remove a post, therefore I am including an update to my previous post. After I emailed James, owner of BookVip, I received a response from him in less than one hour.

James and his team quickly and professionally rectified the situation and my boyfriend and I are very pleased with the outcome.

Originally we were very upset with BookVIp. I did some research, found this site and James's addressing everyone's concerns. I took a chance in contacting him and I was very surprised yet very pleased that he acknowledge my email and took corrective action so quickly.

I now have restored faith in this company and my boyfriend and I are looking forward to our vacation in Mexico.

This is a message I sent James, who on this site has identified himself as one of the BookVip owner's.

My boyfriend and I booked a vacation to Playa del Carmen for May 31-June 7. We received the confirmation for the Secrets Capris Rivera Maya. Two weeks ago we inquired about changing the hotel to Secrets Silversand. The BookVip agent confirmed that we would be able to make the change and we paid an additional $116 to do so.

We received a direct confirmation from Secrets Capris Rivera Maya (when we originally booked it) but not from Secrets Silversand. I called the reservation line today to confirm everything was ok. To my dismay the phone operator informed me the previous BookVip agent had cancelled our original hotel reservation and never made the change; supposedly he was new and this is why he made this mistake.

Our flight's have already been reserved and cannot be changed without us paying a $400 change flight fee.

I understand businesses make errors. I'm ok with that. What concerns me is the fact that BookVip's standard policy in situations like this is refuse to take ownership and offer a simple remedy to ensure best customer quality service. Instead every BookVip agent I speak to is able to acknowledge this company's mistake but offer no solution to compensate the customer. Why do we have to pay money out of pocket for a mistake that BookVip made? Sounds like terrible business ethics.

I find this quite disturbing. Perhaps you have such a successful business that BookVip is perfectly ok with screwing people?

We did our part and BookVip reservations hotline made several errors. BookVip could rectify the situation, however, is choosing not to.

I supposed going viral with this or trying to get the local tv news to investigate BookVip is of no interest to you?

I look forward to hearing from you.
