Bookvip's reply to:

Bookvip - Bait and switch

Dear Kayla,

Thank you for the opportunity to address your concerns.

The package price advertised on our website does not include taxes (and not advertised as “including taxes”). The total amount you paid for your package was $737.90. The addition of government taxes at time of purchase is a standard. The savings amounts to over $1500+ off the retail rate as advertisied on Expedia, Kayak, and Hotels.com

Please be reminded that your package is “all-inclusive” and all of your family’s meals, beverages (including alcohol), and non-motorized activities are covered under this promotion.

In addition, you received an extra bonus of 3 FREE Nights In Las Vegas or Orlando.

All taxes and fees are disclosed before any transaction is completed and charged.

Taxes are not included on our website because applicable government taxes and fees vary depending upon upgrades or extra persons or extra nights added to the vacation packages – the total of which is necessary before the required government taxes and fees can be quoted (if applicable).

We disclose 100% of any additional fees, if applicable, and you would have had to agree to those terms in writing prior to any billing.

Despite taxes (which we cannot do anything about) or Resort Fees charged by the participating resort, our offers are still 77% less than booking directly with the resort or with any other travel provider.

The eligibility requirements for each promotional package can be viewed on BookVIP’s website at the bottom of each resort offering page by clicking on the Terms and Conditions.

We are happy that you will still be able enjoy an all-inclusive, 6-day/5-night vacation in a beautiful Five-Star resort in Cancun, in addition to your FREE 3-night vacation in Las Vegas or Orlando.

The reason we have over 3.9 Million Facebook Likes, more customer video reviews, and have sent over 100,000 people on vacation this year alone, is because we are the worldwide leader in promotional packages - that's our specialty. If you meet the resort's requirements and agree to attend the resort preview, you will receive the promotional rate.

The $599 price is such a fake number.

It comes out to be $900 and you have to do a timeshare presentation. I can book a better room at the same resort for the same price though trip advisor and don’t have to do a presentation. Book Vip is a scam.

Amazing Honeymoon Vacation - BookVIP, you ROCK!

So first we'd like to thank BookVIP for giving us this really beautiful place to stay at, cuz they provided us with a really great deal. I will say that we just got married.

This is our honeymoon. Yay! And I will say this is one of the most outstanding adventures we've ever taken. The food was amazing, the beach was beautiful.

Obviously the bed is our favorite place to be right now. The beds were super comfortable. The staff was so sweet and so nice. The staff goes above and beyond at Secrets Silver Sands.

Without a doubt I've never felt more welcome in a place. And they do their best to make us feel welcome and make us feel special, as soon as we walked through the door literally handing us a glass of champagne. So I can't say anything more about this group, the staff, and the experience we had through BookVIP and Silver Secret Sands.

It was amazing! Thank you for making our honeymoon the best!

I am still waiting for my Amazon Gift card for 100$, I have not heard from BOOKVIP since paying for my thip in Feb.2017. I would appreciate a call as I have dialed every number I could find on your pages or at least and e-mail, you have my address.

I will reserve my complaint until I hear from you. em1susta@hotmail.com..There were a number of things I would like explained also, I have read most of your complaints and mine seems to be in line with misinformation and extra charges added on along with a mandatory visit to a resort for purchase that was not disclosed until after payment was made...please contact me for a visit .

Bookvip Deal Review from Lawrenceville, Georgia

Dear Towanda,

We appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.

First and foremost, ss you were advised, it is company policy that customers must complete one vacation before booking another bonus/free vacation.

All customers that are eligible have the opportunity to receive a free 4-day/3-night vacation at a Westgate Resort for mentioning BookVIP in a Video Review. This is to show BookVIP’s appreciation to those customers.

This opportunity is clearly advertised as: “Get 3 Free Nights at a Westgate Resort For Mentioning BookVIP in a Video Review.” We offer a choice of a standard room or a 1-bedroom under this promotion. It is not valid for peak season, black-out dates or holidays.

Although this is a free vacation, the Terms and Conditions set forth by the participating resort provider govern the vacations offered. We cleary list the terms & conditions on our site http://www.bookvip.com/hotelvideo

When you called to book your free vacation and requested a 3-bedroom suite during Peak season travel dates, you refused to pay for the additional costs incurred for the larger suite and Peak season surcharges required by the resort.

Another issue arose when you called to book your free vacation in Orlando and disagreed with the resort requirement that “Participants that have attended any other resort preview in the past 12 months are not eligible for this promotion.”

Understanding the guidelines above, please call 888.845.0602 when you are ready to book your FREE vacation and a customer service representative will be happy to assist you.

We have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, send over 100,000 people on vacation per year and have more customer video reviews than any other travel site: http://bookvip.com/sitereviews.

BookVip.com is a SCAM. I booked a stay in Orlando a few months ago and their website said if I completed the booking I would receive a free 4 day 3 night vacation in Miami, Orlando, Vegas AND MORE.

I paid for my stay and immediately called to verify my free trip. At that time I was told that once I completed the stay I paid for that I would be able to redeem the free vacation ANYWHERE they had hotels. After I completed my stay I called customer service and THAT is when the lies began to unravel. I was first told I had to do a video review.

I told them that was NOT made clear as a term or condition PRIOR to me paying for the first vacation. I reluctantly did the video only to THEN be told I had to stay at a Westgate property in Orlando. AGAIN prior to me paying for the initial vacation there were NO SUCH PARAMETERS placed on the free trip. Needless to say I am PISSED at their practice of bait and switch so I filed a complaint with the Consumer Protection Division of the Attorney General's Office in each state a partner of the company lists an address for (Louisiana, Florida and New York I think).

I got a copy of the answer to my complaint from the company's lawyer claiming they are temporarily suspending the campaign that suckered me in and are looking into it. I then contacted the lawyer myself sent him pictures of the false advertisement over 2 weeks ago and he has yet to respond. Upon looking on the internet Ive found NUMEROUS people who have also been scammed by these crooks and I am now entertaining the idea of filing a class action lawsuit.

Initially I was going to have my lawyer file a lawsuit just on my behalf since they are clearly refusing to give me the vacation they promised. But after seeing so many others taken advantage of I am going to look into my options to file on behalf of the MANY people this company has baited and switched o .

Bookvip - Deal Review from Bellevue, Washington

Dear Eldon,

We appreciate your feedback.

We regret that you choose not to attend the resort’s presentation (your only obligation in exchange for the affordable vacation package you enjoyed). Unfortunately, your decision resulted in penalties (to date, unpaid) as clearly explained in the Terms and Conditions governing the vacation package and which you agreed to when you made your reservation.

Neither BookVIP nor the resort could have known that you would not attend the presentation.

Our special promotional packages are sponsored by the resorts and the rooms are discounted up to 77% because the resort is subsidizing the room in exchange for your time during the resort preview. All qualifications, resort fees, taxes, deposits and penalties for any particular property are clearly stated on the Terms and Conditions governing each vacation package.

To ensure that a potential customer is eligible and qualified to participate in the special promotion, the Terms and Conditions are reviewed with the customer during the sales call and
the customer must accept and agree to the Terms and Conditions via electronic signature
before any reservation is final and the travel dates sent to the resort.

We have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, send over 100,000 people on vacation per year and have more customer video reviews than any other travel site: http://bookvip.com/sitereviews.

Beware. They dont honor the terms of their own agreement. The scam is to get you there then void the special deal and hit your credit card.

Bookvip's reply to:

Bookvip - They change terms and conditions as they like, I was considering buying so I made sure that I met the qualifications before I hit book on their site, didn't meet the new ones due to age.

Thank you for your feedback.

Upon review of your reservation, we discovered that the resort had made some changes to their eligibility requirements and the Terms and Conditions were being updated. The updated Terms and Conditions were in process but not yet completed on the website when you checked them prior to making your reservation.

That is the reason for the discrepancy between the Terms and Conditions you based your reservation on and the Terms and Conditions you received upon booking.

We immediately contacted you to explain the situation and offered you a wide selection of resort options which were currently available on your travel dates, along with a significant discount.

As of the moment, we are looking forward to your response so we can send you on your vacation as planned.

I pride myself in BookVip offering the most discounted vacation packages and having an A+ rating Better Business Bureau for our customer service.

We will send over 300,000 families on dreams vacations alone this year! We have more actual customer video reviews than any other travel site.http://bookvip.com/sitereviews

The original terms and conditions required a single female to be 28 min income of 40,000 and 15.00 a night resort fee

The new terms and conditions required single females to be 35, 16.95 a night 5.00 a night taxes (they had already added one tax to to my reservation) and a 350.00 security deposit until you attend their tour.

So no reservations, no offer for a different resort with different terms, and I am now turned off from the whole idea of dealing with people like I just had to on the phone.

It is not worth the hassle to deal with this company.

All of our special promotional packages are based on availability. On certain holidays like Christmas/New Year’s & peak season/March these promotional packages sell-out even faster than usual.

Since your preferred resort was fully booked during your New Year’s travel dates, we we contacted you via email and offered you an equally lovely resort which was available on your travel dates and could accommodate your large family.

Unfortunately, you have not responded to our repeated attempts to contact you to finalize your reservation. Because you never made a formal reservation, your credit card was never charged.

Although time is getting short, if you are still interested in taking your family on a vacation to celebrate the New Year, please feel free to contact me directly. I can be reached at James@bookvip.com.

I think it is a scam.I tried to book a deal on their website. They take your reservation and credit card first.

Then you have to call to confirm. I called to confirm. They did not have any rooms left at the place for that deal. The person was not in United States. Took 10 minutes for her to understand my name and email.

Tried to get me to book at another place with none of the amenities but,at the same price.

Duhhh. No.

I booked, listened to the sales pitch carefully, read reviews & called to cancel. They didn't screw me over or scam me.

They did not charge me. Now that I know the whole deal, let me explain...this company is a headhunter for people that fit the mold of timeshare owners. You tell them your PREFERRED dates & hotel you are interested in. If the hotel has an opening for a "potential timeshare owner" to come visit, bookvip gives the hotel a list of candidates to fill the slot.

Sometimes a nicer hotel, sometimes different dates.

Remember you are signing up to be on a list of potential timeshare owners. My husband went through the roof when I told him we had to listen to a 90 min sales pitch. He is very outspoken. If we arrived & he told the salesperson what he really thought & wouldn't listen to the whole presentation, they can charge us the regular amount per night.

In our case, that would have been an extra $1300! If you can suck it up & you have flexible dates, it is a great deal. If you are booking a concrete vacation & need exact dates & hotel, this is not for you. They cancelled very easily when I told them my husband had no interest in a timeshare (why would they want to fill a slot with a dead end?) It took literally 3 minutes on the phone & it was cancelled.

Just understand what this company is all about before you book.

BOOKVIP.COM is everything people say they are. The customer service is terrible.

You can't understand the people who tries and set up your reservations. They will take your money and leave you hanging. I strongly recommend you not to deal with these people. SCAMMMM!!!!!

I booked online with them and when I called to confirm my reservation they didn't have any information on me. They charged my credit card and said I had free cancellation. NOT TRUE... The supervisors are as worst as the sales representatives.

I am very surprise this company is still open. Parents spend the extra money to make sure your family is not homeless during your vacation.

Glad I decided to research them before I dealt with them. I got an online price for a 4 day 3 night vacation to Myrtle Beach but the site would only allow me to schedule 3 days instead of 4 for the dates I requested for $59.

I still thought it was a bang of a deal and so I went to enter my CC information and noticed that the whole website was not secure (no https) And nothing to show that it was secure other than a few typed words under where you enter your CC info telling you it IS secure. So I entered four of my CC numbers and saw that my numbers were not changing into a coded format. So I stopped and called them and was told by some woman who did not speak English well that the trip for the days I wanted would be $299. I told her that I am confirming the reservation with my CC info because I did not feel comfortable doing it online and the price I was given was $59 (it was some end of the year deal).

Because I insisted on the $59 price she hung up on me.

SO I called back and got another non English speaking male who told me the online information was incorrect...even though it had the days I requested. I made up an excuse to get off the phone and that is when I did the research on the company...and read all you lovely folks comments...LMBO...#GLADIDID
