BookVIP Reply:
Dear Ebonie,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

First and foremost, please be reminded that you were notified one (1) day after you made your reservation that the resort would be unable to honor your travel dates. Your reservation was cancelled per your request and you were never charged for the vacation package.

Because the resort partner is paying the 70% discount on your behalf, these amazingly affordable vacation packages are marketed separately from the main retail resort/hotel reservations department. That is why you were advised that the resort didn’t have your reservation when you called the main number of the resort.

As you can imagine, these promotions sell like hotcakes and as a result, every once in awhile, the participating resort discovers that the rooms have been over-booked. Therefore, the reservations are honored on a first-come, first-serve basis.

BookVIP, as the booking company, is then put in the uncomfortable position of bearing the bad-news to the guests.

We are happy to hear that you ultimately were able to visit your resort choice.

BookVIP has thousands of happy travelers every week, and has more video testimonials from happy customers than any other travel website in the world!

Thank you.

I was trying to book a vacation and after putting all my info and paid I needed to call to confirm a reservation so I called in and I was told I have to attend a 90 presentation for timeshare which was ok for me but then since I don't make more than xK a year as a combined income they cancelled my vacation. That's how bad they are .

BookVIP Reply:
Dear John,

The vacation packages offered by BookVIP are amazingly affordable because the resort partner is subsidizing the cost in exchange for your their time during the resort preview.

Due to the limited number of packages available, the resort partners (not BookVIP) set forth certain eligibility requirements to ensure that the packages are enjoyed by the guests for whom they are designed. As the booking company, BookVIP must ensure that all guests are eligible for the promotional packages before reservations are made and sent to the participating resort provider.

The Terms and Conditions governing every vacation package can be found at the bottom of each hotel offering page (the usual location used by most websites worldwide to disclose any terms and conditions which may apply to use of the website or offer) and are printed in a normal font.

Above all else, providing excellent customer service is our main goal and all of our customer service agents are highly-trained and qualified.

Please be reminded that you were advised of the resort partner’s inability to accommodate you
within 24 hours of booking and were never charged for the reservation.

All of our special promotional packages are sponsored by the participating resort partner. Because of the high demand for these amazingly affordable vacation packages, every once in awhile, the participating resort discovers that reservations have exceeded the allotment.

Although this happens rarely, it puts BookVIP (as the booking company) in the difficult position of being the bearer of bad news.

Bookvip - Vacation Package Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I feel bookvip is a scam, as of right now I have been dealing with there sales people who cannot and will not give a correct answer. They try to lie to you but you catch them in their lies.

Right now we booked for a 5 star resort and they are trying to put us in dump three star. They cannot and will not give straight answers, and say they will call back but never do. I do believe they offer top resorts and then put you in the lesser or lowest resort of that chain. I feel this how ordeal is a scam and have wasted over 5 hours trying to straighten this out with no help.

They don't email you so there is no record of anything that was talked about. There is not even a confirmation email on payment very shady.

I will be following up daily until my issue is resolved.

BookVIP Reply:
Dear Beau,

We appreciate your feedback.

We would like to point out that your reservation is intact and confirmed by the resort. As in the Terms & Conditions, if one Secrets property is not available you are offered an alternative Secrets property.

Please note that it is the participating resort provider who issues the confirmation of your reservation. However, BookVIP, as the booking company, immediately sends all customers a receipt confirming purchase of the vacation package.

In addition, the Terms and Conditions governing every promotional package are located at the bottom of each resort offering page and are easy to read and understand.

To ensure our customers understand the Terms and Conditions governing their particular vacation package, the Terms and Conditions are reviewed with the customer during every sales call, and must be agreed to in writing by customer in order to finalize the reservation and have dates sent to the participating resort provider.

On 3/10/2016 my daughter and I booked a vacation with Bookvip with vacation dates of 4/18/16-4/23/26 at a certain resort; we paid over $612 for those dates at that resort; we booked by phone to make sure those dates were open; the next day my daughter got a call from the company and they said those dates are all sold out and we had the option of staying at another resort that was basically a dump or change our travel dates; we said no to both as neither was acceptable to us; our flights are paid for and our vacations at work are during that time; they still charged my credit card for the amount of the reservation that they say is fully booked and they can't accommodate; I only authorized them to charge credit card for that resort and for those dates; I asked them to cancel the reservation ( even though why would I have to cancel a reservation that doesn't exist because they overbooked) and on each phone call we made back to them they want us to call back after next Wednesday; I'm not ***; that happens to be after deadline to cancel with no charge; the phone rep said it takes weeks to months to get a refund. BULL!!!

As fast as you can charge my card, you can credit it. This was fraud. I only authorized them to charge for that trip and even though they say it's sold out, they charged my card anyway. I called my major credit card company and explained what happened and that we need that money to book our trip.

The credit card company agreed and attempted to make a three way call with them to get them to agree to s credit immediately so she could reverse the charges but all we got is the long period of being on hold and then call got dropped. We are going to try again on Monday. What this place is doing is fraud. They charge your credit card vacations even though they know aren't available.

Stay away.

This is a classic bait and switch. Why are these people still in business

All of our special promotional packages are based on availability. On certain peak travel seasons (such as Christmas / Easter / Spring Break) the promotional packages were no longer made available at this hotel.

We contacted you the day after you booked and relayed this unfortunate news. You told us you were not flexible to change resorts or travel dates and agreed to give us 1 week within which to request an exception from the resort and have your reservation confirmed.

Three days later you called and demanded that your reservation be cancelled and refunded. BookVIP immediately processed the cancellation and refund.

Bookvip - Vacation Package Booking Review from Braselton, Georgia

I went on Bookvip because we heard so much about Westgate in orlando we actually thought about buying timeshare. When the opportunity came for us to take a small vaction BookVip came on my facebook page.

So I went to reserve and low and behold 4 days later is when the horror began. I recieved a email for me to call and when I called they let me know that someone who I didnt know was traveling to the same hotel and i needed to cancel my reservations. So I ended up caneling and reserving for another Westgate resort and here I go again another email anothe persons at the same hotel. When i told them that my husband was retired military they said we couldn't book.

I felt like they were being prejudice against me and they have my card information and here today i still have no reservations. I recieved a call today and still no reservation. My vacation was planned for the first week in April and its ruined because this has taken so long.

I am so disappointed that contacted this company. Veronica Reid

BookVIP Reply:
Dear Veronica,

We appreciate your feedback.

First and foremost, please be reminded that your reservation has been cancelled and you were never charged for same.

Unfortunately, your reservation was not honored by the resort due as a result of a Group Travel issue, which is a clear violation of the Terms and Conditions governing the vacation package.

We contacted you as soon as a connection was found between you and one or more other parties traveling to the same resort on the same dates and you decided to change resorts. The issue arose again when one of the previously identified parties also moved to the same resort.

Although we thank your husband for his previous military service, you indicated to one of our representatives that he currently works for Comcast, which is not a violation of the Terms and Conditions.

Bookvip Hotel Reservation Review from Atlanta, Georgia

We book a three day get away with BookVIP, I thought everything was going to work out week till we got to the site and were misled about what was included in our stay. Paid resort fee and still has to paid $20 a person to use the waterpark that was inside the resort. Then attended what we thought would be a 90 minute tour, but ended up being 4 hours!!!

BookVIP Reply:
Dear Shannon,

We appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.

Because customer satisfaction is the mainstay of BookVIP’s business, we go above and beyond to clearly advertise the promotional packages being offered. Waterpark tickets were not included in the promotional package you purchased and the package was not advertised as such.

The vacation packages offered by BookVIP are amazingly affordable because the participating resort partner is paying the 70% discount on these promotions, they set forth certain eligibility requirements for these vacation packages. It is the resort’s prerogative to schedule the presentations at their discretion and BookVIP has no control over the time or length of the presentation.

Any and all additional resort fees, taxes, and/or deposits which may be required by any particular resort are contained in the Terms and Conditions for each package. The Terms and Conditions are located at the bottom of every hotel/resort offering page on our website.

In addition, the Terms and Conditions are reviewed with each guest during the sales call and must be agreed to, and accepted by all guests before the reservation can be finalized and forwarded to the resort.

Booking was cancelled but my credit card charges have not been reversed.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

This was cancelled within the 7 day window. I received two confirmations on January 23 of the cancellation and the charges would be reversed within 5-7 days.

It is now 5 weeks later and the charges are still on my card. I have been diagnosed with an illness that requires me stay close to home until my medications become regulated. So I may not be able to take a trip this year.

I need this resolved immediately.

I am attaching a copy of my cancellation notice. Please contact me as soon as possible.

BookVIP...all I want is my Money back

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

On the actual site it says "per couple" which normally means two people. Normally "couple" doesn't mean having to be married or living common-law, it's two people. No where on this site does it define "couple." So, when I booked I was told I would receive something from the resort. I never did. When speaking to an agent through BookVIP they asked what my partner did, his work, etc. I told them. Just recently found out the resort wants proof of living together two pieces. I own the house, own it for ten years, dating this man for almost four years. In no way, shape or form will I put any type of attachment of my partner's name to this house! I tried to get my money back, they said I can't, which is not right. Find out this presentation that's suppose to be 90 - 120 minutes is about buying some sort of real estate properties...no where in their website do they stay what it's about, which is the catch for the low prices. Someone I knew went, they didn't want to purchase the real estate, and they were treated like dirt, that's wrong.

Also with the common-law status, so what happens if the couple breaks up in the mean time? We are paying for a vacation we can't even do? That's wrong. I'm suppose to leave April 04 and still fighting with this...wish I could just get my money back and say the heck with it.

One: the website should define "couple"

Two: the website should state WHAT the presentation is about.

Three: you can't really plan anything because you really don't know which days this presentation is going to be because they can't give you an exact day just a day or two into your stay which a stay could be three to five days.

Four: BookVIP doesn't like to send anything in an email, and the resort never sent anything stating what's expected. I happen to like things in writing.

Five: BookVIP says press the # key and they will call you back...didn't work for me. I had to stay on the line anywhere from 30 - 45 minutes before someone answered.

All I want is my money back. Never again will I book with them.

Our special promotional packages are sponsored by the resorts and the rooms are discounted up to 77% because the resort is subsidizing the room in exchange for your time during the resort preview. The time and date of each presentation is contained within the resort confirmation of the reservation – which is issued prior to the guest’s scheduled check-in date.

Your reservation is booked under a “cohabitating” status – and as stated in the Terms and Conditions governing the vacation package, the resort requires proof of same, such as government-issued photo i.d.’s with matching addresses and/or a lease agreement.

As you were advised 3 days prior to filing your review, the resort agreed to accept a utility bill (and your i.d.’s with matching addresses) as proof of cohabitation in your case and BookVIP has been waiting to receive your email attaching copies of your proof of cohabitation in order to send it to the resort.

They need a new system

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

This has been the single worst experience booking a vacation. If I weren't so desperate for a vacation where I didn't have to worry about spending money when I got there I would have canceled long ago.

I had plane tickets I had to use by 03/24/16. The price is great, but the hassle and stress, not so much. We are now less than a week away from leaving and still are not sure what hotel we are staying in since we have not gotten the final confirmation. First, don't get too comfortable (or set) on a specific hotel you will likely not get your first choice.

We have now chosen 4 different resorts (more if you count the ones that were $700 more expensive and ruled out right away after talking to them and finding out what the price difference was) I booked my flight at the same time I was booking my vacation on line, having thought that the reservation I was booking on-line was good. Then the website says to call in to confirm.

When you call in, they tell you that hotel is no longer available ( I guess so they can talk you into another more expensive hotel.

BookVIP Reply:
Dear Tara,

We appreciate the opportunity to address your comments.

The vacation packages offered by BookVIP are amazingly affordable because the resort partner is paying for 70% of the cost of these promotions. Due to the limited number of packages available, the resort partners set forth certain eligibility requirements to ensure that the packages are enjoyed by the guests for whom they are designed.

As the booking company, BookVIP must ensure that all guests are eligible for the promotional packages and that the requested dates are available before reservations are made and sent to the participating resort provider.

Until this process is completed, there is no reservation. It is unfortunate that you booked your flights prior to having any reservation at all.

A couple of days after you booked your vacation, BookVIP contacted you to let you know that payment was pending due to credit card decline. BookVIP honored your request to make partial payments and you moved resorts (at your request).

Unfortunately, your credit card was declined once again. After updating your credit card information for a second time, the first partial payment cleared.

You then sent BookVIP an email inquiring about a resort credit that had been a free gift under your promotion package and you were advised that when you moved resorts, the gift changed. The next (and last) contact BookVIP had with you was to collect your remaining balance, which was paid.

BookVIP was unaware of any other issues until we received your recent review.

Please note that it is the participating resort provider who issues the confirmation of your reservation. Information relating to resort confirmations (and contact information for your chosen resort) is contained in the Terms and Conditions governing your vacation package.

Please refer to the Terms and Conditions you agreed to when you made your reservation and finalized your vacation package.

Not feeling the love !!!!

Missed our flight in Orange County due to weather, informed book vip, and they wanted to charge a $199 change fee !worked thru that and then ask for an additional day and they refused not happy but reconciled to the fact my vacation in Cabo was a day less. Fun then starts......

Received an email to call asap and they ask if I was traveling in a group, how do you prove you are not ??? After 25 minutes on the phone they said ok we believe you. Ready to relax and have lunch at the hotel SW airlines provided for us we get a call from vip once again asking if we are traveling in a group and if we are they are canceling our reservation. After another 30 minutes on the phone they decided we were being truthful.

Doesn't end there 2 more emails and 2 more phone calls I was over the top and not even sure I had accommodations when I got to Cabo. Good news is we got to Cabo and had a driver to pick us up and are now lounging poolside bad news is I spent an entire afternoon stressed out over proving I didn't know some random person. The funny moment in all of this is when we landed in Cabo and the driver was waiting for us we met the party that we were accused of traveling with and they were coming from east coast and missed their flight as well. They did not have the pleasure of all the harassing phone calls because every time they tried to reach vip the were hung up on.

Bottom line, the property we are staying at informed us they have dropped this travel agency. My advise is to steer clear !!!!

BookVIP Reply:
Dear Paula,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We appreciate all feedback.
Because the resort partner is paying the 70% discount on for these promotions, they set forth certain eligibility requirements for these vacation packages.

BookVIP was notified by the resort of a possible “Group Travel” issue when you and another party both contacted the resort and told them that your flight was delayed and you would not be able to check-in until the next day.
The probability of the existence of a group travel issue was heightened when the resort discovered that the original flight of the “random person” you met at the airport had actually landed as-scheduled, with no delays reported.
In an effort to clear up any confusion, BookVIP (as the booking company) contacted you as we were updated by the resort regarding the situation.

The $199 fee you mention was quoted in response to your consideration of adding an extra night to your vacation package.

Complete Waste of time and Uncertainty of Fraud Westgate Gatlinburg

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was thinking that I was booking another family vacation for Gatlinburg Westgate. Only to put my Card information in, and receive a confirmation...Then told to call a number in which, I was told in order to book this, I had to be between 30 and 70 years of age, with a minimum income of 60,000.

This information should have been provided before I put my most important information in. Im not sure if my card was charged, if my information was saved to a database. Fraudulent Transactions are at a High Peak right now. Not only that, But I also tried the Down payment method for 59.00, and the website kept timing out.

So , again, I am not sure if my information was saved or if and How I can cancel this. This has me very concerned. However, Im more upset at the fact that I thought I was taking my family on another vacation and a great price( We just left Myrtle Beach Feb 19- Feb 22) Booked through Booking.Com.

I guess I should just stick to what I know. I am Very disappointed.

Folks I will never book a reservation through BOOK VIP they really were inconsiderate. I booked a reservation at Westgate Lakes Resorts Orlando two weeks ago they took my money but could not give me a confirmation number to check in so I drove from Mississippi to Florida check in date was next day and still no confirmation number.

I was so stressed out so I ended up having to cancel they didn't even apologize to me they ruined my vacation with my wife. Thanks for nothing BOOK VIP.

BookVIP Reply:
Dear Roy,

We appreciate your feedback.

First and foremost, please note that you received a full refund for your vacation package witin 24 hours of your request to cancel same.

One week after you purchased your vacation package, we were notified by the resort that your package could not be confirmed because you had also made a duplicate reservation directly with them.

Although you advised us that you had cancelled the reservation made directly with the resort, the resort records still reflected your reservation as “active” and the resort could not move forward with the promotional package booked through BookVIP.

One day prior to your scheduled check-in date, your request to cancel the promo package was honored and your refund was processed on the following day.

In a nutshell, your promotional package was not confirmed by the resort because the existing reservation you made directly with the resort was never cancelled.

Bookvip - Vacation Package Booking Review from Holt, Michigan

James,

I booked a vacation thru your company on the 7th of this month. Later that week i was laid off and logged onto your site bookingmeter.com on the 13th to cancel.

I sent a message in your contact us link due to after hours. As of today the 18th i have yet to hear back so i called only to be informed that their is nothing that could be done because a confirmation email had not been sent to me. I requested a refund and was put on hold for another supervisor who told me i could give it away and that i would be put on a 12 month open booking. I was told i could find a job within that time period and use it at a later date.

I have 5 kids.....really think i want to use it at a later date? I would rather have my money back to take care of bills now. Funny i had a confirmation email within 10 minutes of hanging up stating i could book within 12 months. Not a very good impression.

I have been charged and still have yet to hear from the actual resort that they recieved my reservation. Really not impressed.

BookVIP Reply:
Dear Shawn,

Thank you for your feedback.

Please note that it is the participating resort provider who issues the confirmation of your reservation. The resorts generally issue confirmations in order of arrival date and since your travel dates were in September, 2016, your confirmation number had not yet been issued. However, BookVIP, as the booking company, immediately sends all customers a receipt confirming purchase of the vacation package.

We did not receive your email requesting a cancellation of your vacation package. Because your vacation package was final and non-refundable when you called BookVIP to request a cancellation, your travel dates were cancelled as requested and you were given 18 months to use your credit towards any one or more BookVIP vacation packages for which you are qualified. You also have the option to transfer your vacation package to a third party who qualifies for a BookVIP promotional package. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions you agreed to in order to finalize your vacation package and have your travel dates sent to the resort.

We have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and send over 100,000 people on vacation per year and have more customer video reviews than any other travel site.

Thank you.
Kind regards,

Canceling reservation is a huge hassle!!!

Booked one of their "special limited time only" deals. At no point before I booked did they say anything about having to go to a 120 minute seminar.

Only received that little bit of info after booking. So, called back to cancel reservation. First, the agent kept trying to talk me out of it. When I refused, they kept me on the phone an unreasonably long amount of time while they pretended to get authorization to cancel the booking.

It's always interesting how quickly a business takes your money, but how long they drag it out when it comes time to give it back. Don't bother. Go with Expedia.com.

I've always had good results with them.

Dear Heather,

We appreciate the opportunity to address your comments.

First and foremost, please note that the open-dated, partial-payment reservation which you made on-line, was cancelled and refunded in full within 24-hours of your request (on the same day that you submitted your review).

Our special promotional packages are sponsored by the resorts and the rooms are discounted up to 77% from the retail rate because the resort is subsidizing the room in exchange for your time during the resort preview.

The Terms and Conditions governing these promotional packages (including all fees, taxes, etc., when applicable) are located on the bottom of every resort offering page on BookVIP’s website. To further ensure that a potential customer is eligible and qualified to participate in the special promotion, the Terms and Conditions are reviewed with the customer during the sales call and the customer must agree to the Terms and Conditions via electronic signature before any reservation is final and the travel dates sent to the resort.
