They changed my reservation without telling me. I only found out about when I went to make a payment today.

I asked for a refund, but was told I couldn't, because it was after the 7 days. Remind you I made this reservation back in October. Made changes to my reservation in December. Neither time did they tell me they changed my hotel.

I went from a 3 bedroom condo to 2 bedroom hotel room. They refuse to give my money back tried to speak with a supervisor for two days with no return call.

DO NOT do business with this company, they seem very underhanded. I have never had been so dissatisfied dealing with a company

In June 2014 we booked at Azul Sensatori in Mexico for February 20, 2015, we got a confirmation within a few days of booking and paid this resort for gratuities. We bought the package based on the services and amenities provided by Azul Sensatori.

Our son has Autism and the resort was perfect for him, including a 24/7 medical services, a sensory play room, playground and kiddie pool. This trip would be the first for him and have been working with him for over a month with the original resorts web photos using social stories and even incorporated into his therapy sessions. Book VIP's first excuse was Azul was unavailable during the dates we booked back in June 14, that same day I email the resort directly and the reply was we are wide open during those dates.

Each time I call the supervisor Keith Isabell has been avoiding my calls, when I do get him on the phone every time he would state "let me see what I can do, I will call you back tomorrow" he never called me back even thought he stated that on 4 different occasions. Disputes the fact each excuse they give me is disproven, by providing facts on our end, BOOKVIP will not take any responsibility for this major issue for my family.

Bought my holiday. They took my money and assured me my confirmation would be in my email.

9 days before departure I am confirmed by Jen but need to wait for 48 hours. 8 days before I called again, am confirmed by Gerda, just another 24 hrs.. 7 days before departure I get a "I'm sorry" notice that I no longer have a holiday. I had my plane ticket.

I had to insist to get my money back, I still have not received it.

I deserve a payment for the tickets, but they just say "I'm sorry". They should be off the market

Poor customer service

I called, one day after making my vacation booking, to cancel the booking. They acknowledged my cancellation per phone but would not send me a cancellation e-mail.

The next day I called again, requesting a cancellation e-mail. Customer representative refused, said they will have some one call me to talk to me about it. I insisted on a written e-mail stating my booking has been cancelled, so she told me to hold and then hung up on me!!!!

I now called my credit card company and reported this as a fraudulent

charge.

Beware.

Easy to book - to cancel, a nightmare!! .....

Several weeks ago I booked a 4night/5 day stay at the Gran Melia in Puerto Rico with this company. My credit card was charged then.

I have recently received several emails to contact customer service as a few items are needed to confirm qualification ( not sure why that wasn't all confirmed prior to charging me). I have since proceeded with my travel plans including reserving a non refundable flight for those dates. I just tried calling customer service ( there have been a total of 10 calls because of poor connections and disconnected calls). Clearly outsourced customer service rep initially explained that I didn't meet the criteria of residing greater than 40 miles from the resort destination.

I am flabbergasted... I live in Orlando Fl and the destination is Puerto Rico. She was unable to rationalize that on her own and put me on hold for 15 mins then I got disconnected. She called back 20 mins later ( I was feeling more hopeful based on this return call gesture), but she had no resolution for me.

Apparently I had to live greater than 40 miles from Orlando. I do live >40 miles from some parts of Orlando so which part are they referring to...all? And why wasn't this clear at the time of charging my credit card weeks ago before I proceeded with all my travel plans.

I am waiting for a supervisor to call me back by end of day to hopefully have this issue resolved. I will let you know what has taken place.

they take CC information and look for excuses on why they cant give you the reservation.. mine was that I am not married, they claim the resort policy wouldn't allow it.

called resort directly.. they never heard of these people at all, no such policies exist.. everyone is welcome. I made a report to my bank and crime stoppers.

DO THE SAME!! claim to be based out of Miami but list an Orlando number.. guy struggles for answers then hangs up on me.. twice (same guy everytime, thick middleastern accent)..

no manager exists. SCAM!! BEWARE! too good to be true..

I found out the hard way along with many many others.. report to crime stoppers to get them investigated .

I am on the phone with one of Bookvip.com reps right now. They called to tell me that the room previous reservation (6 day, 5 nights) booked earlier this week is no longer available.

Of course they have already charged my credit card. The alternative resort they have offered does not have the same amenities. Two of my minimum requirements is a hot tubspa and fitness center. Their alternative has neither.

They also offer to sell me some 3 night stay to use for some future date. Guess I will have to wait and see if I get my money back.

We booked a one week stay in Cancun at Sandos Plyacar. They started out lying to us about when the card would be charged. They said it wouldn't be charged for 7 days and charged it immediately. One week prior to our departure we had heard nothing from Book VIP. Not confirmation letter, nothing. After multiple phone calls messages and email, none of which were ever answered by them, we finally got ahold of a live person and were told they could not get us reservations there. We asked for a refund and were flatly denied. They only give a 7 day refund period. The trick is they do nothing for you during that period so they don't tip you off as to how much your being scammed. Once they safely have you money, then the bad news starts to come in. Our only option, less than a week before our vacation was to change resorts to Villa Del Palmar. This just happens to be one of their 'featured' resorts. In other words, the one that pays them the most for lining up suckers like us. We didn't like the resort, it had nothing we were looking for and didn't want to go there, but we had to agree, they gave us no choice. We were later to learn that they knew they couldn't get us into Sandos Plyacar from the beginning, but waited till the last minute to tell us, I assume to put pressure on us to do what they wanted.They referred us to their web site for information on Villa Del Palmar. It states the 4 a la carte restaurants, room service, in room mini-bar and top shelf liquors are all included in the package. It still says this. We spent the entire week before our vacation on the phone, mostly on hold with these people. We left numerous messages and emails, none of which were ever returned. Finally, 2 days before we were leaving they sent us a confirmation letter. It stated that none of the restaurants, the room service, the in room bar and the top shelf liquor were included in our package. We were expected to eat at the buffet 3 meals a day for a week. After hours more on hold and screaming at them to talk to a supervisor- they really didn't want to let us! They sent us another confirmation letter that simply erased the line about the restaurants not being included. No other changes, looks like someone just used white out on it. We called the resort and were told that no, nothing had changed in our package, we would treated as second class citizens for our entire stay, but of course we'd also have to endure their timeshare presentation anyway. At this point we had been told so many lies by the people at BookVIP and endured so much truly terrible customer service that we had simply lost all faith in them. I don't know if they are totally incompetent, or just crooks, but it really doesn't matter. We dared not risk our vacation, who knows what other lies they had told us we wouldn't find out about until we got there and had no where to go?

When we cancelled our reservations the resort told us that no monies had been paid to them and there was no penalty for cancellation because we were within the 48 period. BookVIP still refused to give us our money back. They claimed we had a verbal contract to change resorts. However a verbal contract based on false and misleading information, which their web site is full of, is not binding.

I have since found out that their claims to be members of IATAN, ASTA and have an A+ rating with the BBB are all lies as well. These people are shameless!

We got in touch with James Colligan, who occasionally answers some of the complaints about bookvip.com online, and turns out he's a real person who really does own bookvip.com. After some back and forth he did get us a refund.

I still wouldn't recommend doing business with these people unless you are very very patient and very flexible about where you end up on your vacation.
