I was berated terribly, just because I asked the following question.

"What happens if we check in to one of your listed hotels and the hotel happens to be dirty, run down? Are we able to call you and possibly be sent to another one of your hotels?"

I have the date, time, name and extension number of this agent if management is interested. He was just awful. I cannot imagine this company endorsing their employees talking to customers in this manner. I have made 4 additional phone calls attempting to speak with customer relations, a supervisor or manager. Each agent I spoke with were apologetic of the way the agent spoke to me. However, each one stated there was no one to speak to.

My husband and I booked our vacation with BookVIP for a 5 day stay at the Omni in Cancun Mexico. I was asked to verify my information 4 times with BookVIP (they called every 2 days).

There was never an issue with my reservation. When we arrived in Cancun our reservation was cancelled and we were told we had to pay full price to stay at the resort or leave. They told me I called and said my husband was not travelling with me. I NEVER CANCELLED OUR RESERVATION.

This company is HORRIBLE. They would not give me a full refund.

Pricing issue

This place is a scam! This is a bad time share place that everyone should stay far away from..

first off they tried to charge us tax again on check in.. the room was small and in the basement with a rock wall view with stairs. The wifi is 10 dollars a day.. the tour my wife made one small mistake when filling out the paperwork (put take home income not full income) and they started to treat us like liars we offered to show them proof of income but said nothing can be done now you have to go on a tour a hour and half from now.

When on the tour the salesman notice how upset we were and said you are dismissed from the tour. We were fine with that but thought better of that so I went back in to find out what dismissed from the tour ment. Well it means you have to pay full price to find out.. well I spent the next hour trying to find how this is..

talked to the westgate corporate office they said the price was only going to be 169.00 up from 111.00... but check the credit card and they took a 224.00 making the stay 335.00.. when I say the room is small it is half the size of a regular hotel room.

If we were going to pay $100 plus a night we would have stayed some where much better than this.

Additionally, I have notified the Villa del Palmar Cancun to contact you directly to explain the situation as this was clearly not attempt to switch you to another hotel. However, we do strongly recommend if booking for Easter or any holiday to book at least 2 months in advance as everything is based on availability.

I booked a trip with BookVIP travel. I was on hold with them quite some time while they confirmed availability at the resort I wanted (Villa del Palmer).

I received a confirmation of my reservation and all appeared to be in order so I booked my flights. Then, a week before my trip I received a second confirmation email indicating that they booked me into a different, much lower quality hotel.

It is a classic bait and switch which is a totally illegal here in the US. I will be pursuing legal action and complaining to the BBB and the Florida attorney general's office (they appear to be operating out of FL).

I called several times and they would all come up with different and contradicting "requirements" to be able to book a package. I asked if the price would be the same no matter on what date i booked and they said that if I was to buy it at the price that was listed today it would not matter what days i chose to travel and only in December the prices would change. Then another one said that they did not have that package price because of the date which was on August not December like I had been told before.

I booked our vacation in Dec 2014, 2 weeks before they call and tell us its sold out... we reschedule...

for the following month.. its sold out.. I reschedule for May 2015... they say we only need a week it has been 2.5 weeks I called tonight and nothing...

Very Disappointed...

We responded to an all inclusive offer and were joyfully directed through all of the steps to book a reservation. Dates were cleared, all of the requirements were met and thing was a 'GO'.

We even verified that we were eligible even though we have been to the Baja before. After receiving a confirmation notice, with confirmation number, and calling a second time to be absolutely certain that all was good, we made our flight reservations and car rental. The next day we received a call saying that resort would not honor the reservation, BUT, we could still stay in the resort for an additional amount four times the original quote. After spending a lengthy time on the phone with their agent, we agreed that the supervisor, when available, would return our call to discuss the 'what' 'why' and 'where to'.

That was quite some time ago. I sure hope that you didn't find this site for the same reason as us!!

Someone in Miami should check to see if these people have all of the proper business credentials required for a bonified license!!!

I booked, listened to the sales pitch carefully, read reviews & called to cancel. They didn't screw me over or scam me.

They did not charge me. Now that I know the whole deal, let me explain...this company is a headhunter for people that fit the mold of timeshare owners. You tell them your PREFERRED dates & hotel you are interested in. If the hotel has an opening for a "potential timeshare owner" to come visit, bookvip gives the hotel a list of candidates to fill the slot.

Sometimes a nicer hotel, sometimes different dates.

Remember you are signing up to be on a list of potential timeshare owners. My husband went through the roof when I told him we had to listen to a 90 min sales pitch. He is very outspoken. If we arrived & he told the salesperson what he really thought & wouldn't listen to the whole presentation, they can charge us the regular amount per night.

In our case, that would have been an extra $1300! If you can suck it up & you have flexible dates, it is a great deal. If you are booking a concrete vacation & need exact dates & hotel, this is not for you. They cancelled very easily when I told them my husband had no interest in a timeshare (why would they want to fill a slot with a dead end?) It took literally 3 minutes on the phone & it was cancelled.

Just understand what this company is all about before you book.
