Below is my submission to the Better Business Bureau. If anyone is interested in joining a class action law suit please reach to micah.craig1982@gmail.com.

Complaint Description:

Total bait and switch - advertised a package that I bought then said after I purchased plane ticket that I need to pay another $1000 or change hotel. TOTAL BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM WITH TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Entice you with an attractive offer (~$600 for all inclusive stay). Then prior to booking they say we need to pay another $112 for required gratuity fee. Then after booking plane tickets, they call and say we were misquoted the hotel price so we need to either pay another $1000 or find another lesser quality hotel. As a DoD member I plan to broadcast this experience as much as possible with my peers. I sent the email below to try to resolve this complete bait and switch scam, after speaking to someone who said a manager would call us the next day. Instead of calling, we simply received an email stating that our reservation has been "canceled". No mention of the "non-refundable gratuity fee of $112" or even an apology for the two plane tickets ($800+) we purchased and wasted!!! I have complete emails and screenshots of the offer/purchase with details should anyone ask me to provide it. -

Hello, Today I received a call from a "Laki" (sp?, ext 0203) stating that the price for Secrets Playa Mujeres was misquoted to me and that I would have to adjust my reservation to another resort. This is my formal notification to let you know that I am not willing to adjust the resort where we plan to stay - Secrets, Playa Mujeres in Cancun. Per our agreement, summarized in the correspondence below and substantiated with your withdrawal of funds from my checking account, we purchased a stay at Secrets, Playa Mujeres and paid accordingly. We are as such expecting to stay at the resort for which we paid. The only potential recourse for which we could understand is if the resort is unavailable (as described in the terms below ... "In the unlikely event your resort is not available, you will be guaranteed one of these AM Resorts: Unable to list. Please call for options."). We know this not to be the case as we have already booked our stay with the resort. In short - this is my observation, we planned a nice experience for our 10 year wedding anniversary, we recognized an appealing advertisement online for Secrets Playa Mujeres in Cancun and purchased it. We later paid the difference for the entire trip, but were then told we have to pay more than originally planned (inclusive of a $22 gratuity fee per night, which was already debited from our account but was not previously referenced). We purchased plane tickets upon confirming our resort reservations. Then we received a call saying that the original cost was misquoted and that we would have to pay the $1000 difference if we want to stay at the resort we purchased, or we would have to stay at a different, cheaper resort. The irony of this is that someone from VIP spoke to us on the phone saying, "Because this is such a low cost you need to participate in a 90 minute sales pitch" - Really??? This is TOTALLY unacceptable. As I described in our recorded conversation with your staff tonight, I will not accept this. I am incredibly frustrated already, before we even start our trip. I PROMISE you I will more than negate any positive YouTube videos, BBB ratings, or customer reviews you have if I cancel my plane tickets because we did not get what we paid for. I also plan to convey my frustration to the resort itself and will include them in my public feedback if this is not resolved. Finally, I am now keenly concerned that our experience may be compromised as a result of this conflict and I will not accept a sub-par experience as a result - without communicating publicly. This is not my first successful law suit, online critique, or BBB complaint and I am happy to pursue each with persistence further. Bottom Line: You advertise something, I purchase it and buy plane tickets to experience, you later call and say that YOU misquoted the amount (recorded) and tell me I need to find a cheaper resort. This screams SCAM and I don't think it would be difficult for others to appreciate this.

Your Desired Resolution:

Deliver upon what was promised and what we purchased (5 night all inclusive stay at Playa Mujeres, Secrets for the dates requested). If not accommodated by the time we cancel our plane tickets I will absolutely demand a full refund for our plane tickets, the gratuity fee, and the reservation fee - or will pursue small claims court with punitive damages for our headache with them.

Bookvip - Booked a flight to Cancun, Mexico for July 23 to July 30,2106

Dear Sandy,

We at BookVIP feel bad over your definitely preventable situation, however, this is the very first issue we have ever in over 100,000 vacations as on the Terms & Conditions it says you must bring your passports. Also, if you travel internationally anyplace in the world by plane, you MUST have your passport.

We are also very concerned that the TSA and United Airlines allowed you to even get near the gate much less on the plane without passports. As the passport cards you had are only valid for land and sea border crossings, but not getting on a plane.

As per our written Terms and Conditions that you agreed to, the resorts do not offer a refund especially when you were a no-show for the dates you had booked.

You should have received a 100% refund from United Airlines as they should have never let you on the plane. The only reason United Airlines even gave you back 50% was because they mistakenly allowed you to board the plane, If they had stopped you before boarding as they should have, I am sure they would not have given any of your money back.

It definitely is not fair to blame BookVIP over an issue that could had been easily confirmed in a 3 second Google search or phone call to the airline, or while you checked in at the airport.

Very dissatisfied with this company!!!

I booked a flight to Cancun, Mexico for July 23 to July 30, 2016 for my family of 4.

We had passport cards instead of booklets. So, we made it to Cancun airport to be deported that same day due to improper passports.

I called BookVip on July 24th to see what could be done and was told too bad that is your mistake. Nothing is stated anywhere about passport cards..the girl I spoke with had no ideal what passport cards were...so how was she going to help me??

I was told to call United Airlines...because their staff let us board the flight with improper identification.

Bottom line United did give us 1/2 of our money back on 4 airline tickets.

BookVip, you need to educated your staff!!

I am trying to look up the BBB A+ rating you claim to have. When I search "Booking VIP" in Miami, FL there is no results.

I would like to see how your company is actually rated, do you operate under a different name?? Can you please give the consumers proof that your company has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. Also, is there any independent ratings out there that are not tied to your website. Verified reviews would be preferable and probably a little more believable as the reviews on the website probably are biased.

Please shed some light on this!! thank you

Bookvip Travel Review

Dear Russell,

As you are aware, the vacation package you booked became final and non-refundable after the Reservation Details were reviewed with you during the sales call and you accepted same via electronic signature as well as your decision to decline our trip guard insurance.

Unfortunately, you called to cancel same days later alleging that the traveling guest (you did not make reservation in your own name) did not have a major credit card, which is required as per the Reservation Details governing the vacation package.

Neither the resort nor BookVIP could have anticipated that the traveling guest did not have a major credit card, as specified in the Reservation Details.

All qualifications, resort fees, taxes, deposits and penalties for any particular property are clearly stated on the Terms and Conditions governing each vacation package.

To ensure that a potential customer is eligible and qualified to participate in the special promotion, the Terms and Conditions are reviewed with the customer during the sales call and the customer must accept and agree to the Terms and Conditions via electronic signature before any reservation is final and the travel dates sent to the resort.

BookVIP cannot be held responsible for the misrepresentations propounded by others. You now have a credit to use towards thousands of hotels listed on Bookvip.com that do not have the credit card requirement restriction.

We send over 100,000 people on vacation per year and have more customer video reviews than any other travel site: http://bookvip.com/sitereviews.

Bookvip - Never Shop Book Vip Review from Fort Lauderdale, Florida

We appreciate your feedback.

Apparently, there is a misunderstanding.

In September, 215, you were a lucky winner of a FREE 6-day/5-night Sweepstakes vacation at your choice of any Mayan Palace Resort in Mexico.

There are no restrictions governing the Sweepstakes Vacation package which you activated on September 28, 2015, by paying the $99 required for government taxes. Once activated, you had 18-months to use your 6-day/5-night vacation in a Master Room at the Resort and you may bring whomever you choose as a guest.

You have until March 28, 2017 to take advantage of your free vacation. All you need to do is call 888.845.0602 when you are ready to set your travel dates (based upon availability, of course).

If you elect to upgrade your reservation to one of the “all-inclusive” resort options, you would be subject to eligibility requirements for the special promotion being offered by the “all-inclusive” resort.

We will send over 300,000 families on dreams vacations alone this year! We have more actual customer video reviews than any other travel site.http://bookvip.com/sitereviews .

Bookvip's reply to:

Bookvip - Worse company ever!!!!

Dear Marina,

We appreciate all feedback.

All of our special promotional packages are based on availability. The demand for your first resort choice was overwhelming and exceeded the allotment for the dates you selected.

You were notified of the allotment issue the day after you booked (2 weeks before your travel dates). You agreed to change not only your resort but your destination as well, from Hilton Head, SC to Miami Beach, FL.

We waived ½ of the price difference to compensate you for the inconvenience.

Although it is disappointing that your expectations were not met upon arrival at the resort, that issue should be directed towards the resort, not BookVIP. BookVIP is the booking company and is not in control once you arrive at the resort.

We have an A+ rating with Better Business Bureau, send over 100,000 people on vacation per year and have more customer video reviews than any other travel site. http://bookvip.com/sitereviews

Do not book with this company, huge scam, they are just trying to take your money and they will put you in 2 star hotel, make sure they have updated calendar, I booked originally in Hilton Head on specific dates by speaking with the rep, however they called my couple of days before ( I think they just e-mailed me, not even gave me a call) stating that those specific dates are no longer available, when I already booked PTO, flight tickets, car rental. I changed my plans and booked Newport beach hotel and resort and when I checked in I checked out within half hour, place was close to 2 start hotel.

Bookvip's reply to:

BookVip.com should be shut down

Dear Lisa,

Thank you for the opportunity to address your concerns.

It is disappointing that you were not eligible for the promotion offered by your preferred resort. However, it is the participating resort provider who sets forth the eligibility requirements for the promotional packages since they are paying the 70% discount on behalf of qualified guests.

BookVIP is a booking company and it is our job to ensure that guests are qualified for the limited number of promotional packages being offered by the resort providers. The eligibility requirements for each promotional package can be viewed on BookVIP’s website at the bottom of each resort offering page by clicking on the Terms and Conditions.

Apparently you made two different open-dated reservations on-line and secured one with a $149 deposit and the other with a $79 deposit.

The reservation being held with a $149 deposit was cancelled for non-payment due to credit card decline.

As stated in your review, you called to cancel your reservation being held with a $79 deposit on August 4. Your refund in the amount of $79 was issued later that same day.

We have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, send over 100,000 people on vacation per year and have more customer video reviews than any other travel site: http://bookvip.com/sitereviews.

My name is Lisa Christy and I originally contacted this worthless company back in February 9,2016 to make special plans for my family for the upcoming summer. I was not told I needed to have a major credit card and I gave my debit card information to a customer service agent who took a $79.00 deposit.

I was told I could call back and finish my payment and book the time my family would go to SpringMaid Myrtle Beach South Carolina. I contacted the company July28,2016 to finalize my payment and to set the dates for my vacation. I was told at that time I needed to provide a major credit card, which I do not possess. I was told my reservations would be cancelled and I would receive a refund into my account in 3-5 business days.

I called the company back on August 4,2016 and was told a number of lies. I was told my reservation was still in effect and when I told Cecelia I did not have a major credit card and I was due a refund. I was told my charges were declined. I asked to speak to a manager several times and was given the run around.

She finally provided me with her e-mail and I was told to send her my bank statement. cecilia@bookvip.com was the e-mail provided to me. I informed her I just wanted my refund and I think the company is a rip off.

I have contacted the Better Business Bureau I do not think companies should treat anybody the way I was treated. I sure hope the owner has very good insurance with the business practices that I have seen he is sure going to need it.

Bookvip - We have no regrets. If it seems to be good true - it is NOT. I was skeptical but everything was absolutely magical and perfect!

Stayed here for 5 days. Simply the best hotel you can find in Papagayo Gulf.

The staff is always willing to help you. The food is great, with the system ALL INCLUSIVE, you can eat and drink as many times as you want, no restrictions. The beach and the pools are for relaxation, you cannot surf, but you can enjoy nature.

Great location, great service, great food. Highly recommended this resort and BOOKVIP for making it happen.

We booked through BooKVIP and I have to say was extremely pleased with the entire trip. I definitely would NOT hesitate to recommend BookVIP to my friends or family.

I had 5 nights with my family. We were 2 adults and 2 kids and everyone loved the hotel.

Food was great, lots of choice for everyone. Loved the a la carte Italian. The pool area we used near block 2900 was perfect for the kids to play and adults to relax. Animation team were great and created a brilliant atmosphere around the area.

Pool bar staff were very attentive. Shows at night were west end style and our kids were actually invited to go in The Lion King show which was terrific. I would also recommend the on site swimming with dolphins. We did the adventure package which is the middle one.

A great experience. We also used the spa facilities which were lovely and tranquil, lots of treatments available. It is a big hotel but golf buggies are on the go all the time.

Would love to go back here in the future. Thank you BookVIP!

Bookvip Customer Care Review from Los Angeles, California

Dear Amgad,

Thank you for your valuable feedback.

Our amazingly affordable promotional packages are subsidized up to 77% of the retail rate by the participating resort provider.

To ensure that these rooms are available to the customers for whom they were intended, the participating resort provider sets forth certain eligibility requirements that must be met in order for BookVIP (as the booking company) to be able to offer the package to potential guests.

The Terms and Conditions governing these promotional packages are located on each and every resort offering page on BookVIP’s website. To further ensure that a potential customer is eligible and qualified to participate in the special promotion, the Terms and Conditions are reviewed with the customer during the sales call and the customer must agree to the Terms and Conditions via electronic signature before any reservation is final and the travel dates sent to the resort.

The $399 the say went up to $1100 and when I agreed he said sorry I do not have this deal available
